Patricia Ann Hardin

and beloved family member whose impact was felt by countless students, colleagues, friends, and loved ones.

A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Pat attended Sidney Lanier High School before continuing her education at The University of Alabama, where she earned her Doctor of Education degree and

devoted her professional life to teaching and mentoring future educators. Pat served as a longtime faculty member at Troy University, formerly Troy State University, where she was a Professor of Curriculum and Teaching in the College of Education and also served as Special Education Coordinator. Throughout her distinguished career, she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues through her scholarship, leadership, and unwavering commitment to education. Following her retirement from Troy University in July 2008, Pat returned to Montgomery to be closer to family.

Pat's love of learning extended far beyond the classroom. An avid traveler, she embraced the opportunity to experience the world and accomplished the remarkable feat of visiting all seven continents. She cherished exploring new cultures and destinations, creating memories and friendships across the globe. Another of Pat's great passions was theater. She made frequent trips to New York City, often several times a year, where she delighted in seeing as many Broadway productions as possible during each visit. Her favorite destination was the historic Hotel Edison, located in the heart of Manhattan's theater district. She especially enjoyed sharing her love of theater with friends and family who accompanied her on these treasured trips. She also enjoyed attending many post-season football games to cheer on her alma mater - the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, General James Taylor Hardin and Dorothy Jarrett Hardin, and her beloved toy poodle, Lulu, who brought her years of companionship and joy.

She is survived by her sisters, Janet Hardin and Pegge Lander; her nieces and nephew, Jarrett Shalhoop (Holly), Taylor Lander, Trish McFarlan (Claude), and Anna Lowe (Matt); and six great-nieces and nephews.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who assisted Pat during her brief illness, including Anne Elizabeth McGowin of Senior Law Solutions and the compassionate caregivers of SouthernCare Beacon Hospice.

There will be no traditional funeral service. A private committal ceremony will be held by the family at a later date. Pat is under the care of White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home in Montgomery,

Alabama.

Pat's legacy lives on through the countless students she mentored, the family and friends she loved, and the memories she created around the world. She will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and

fondly remembered by all who knew her.
