Patricia Hamn Williams Seale

She was born Alice Patricia Hamn in Montgomery, Alabama on August 6, 1940 to the late James Thomas Hamn and the late Virginia Foxworth Hamn and was the little sister of the late Martha Jane Dawson (Taylor) and late James Thomas Hamn, Jr. (Jane) and grandmother of the late Virginia Foxworth Jacks. She is survived by her son, Jesse “Ken” McKenney Williams, IV (Caroline) of Montgomery; daughter Virginia (“Ginger”) Williams Jacks (Kevin) of Montgomery; son Kirby Hamn Williams (Mary Blake) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She was known as “Ninny” to her grandchildren Kirby Jacks, Bowen Jacks, Jessica Williams McKinney, Kendall Williams Smaha, Elizabeth(Betsy) Williams Cowart, Kirby (“Mac”) Williams and James Hamn Williams and 6 great grandchildren Mia Jacks, Liam Jacks, Madi Jacks, Marlow McKinney, Weston Smaha and Brooks Cowart.

Patty attended Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery where she met the love of her life, Jesse M. Williams, III, in Latin on the first day of 10th grade. They started dating immediately and would both be voted “Class Favorites” their senior year (1958). Perhaps one of her most memorable events at Sidney Lanier was when she and her fellow cheerleaders rode the back of an elephant into Crampton Bowl for the first ever Sydney Lanier/Lee High School football game. She attended Auburn University after high school where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. She and Jesse were married on June 3, 1961 at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery. Their first home was in student housing in Tuscaloosa where they welcomed their first two children, Ken and Ginger, and Jesse finished law school. After Jesse’s relatively short stint in the U.S. Army, Jesse and Patty returned to Montgomery to raise their family which soon included their third child, Kirby. Patty and Jesse had a storybook marriage. Together they worshiped, loved and supported their children and grandchildren, enjoyed their friends, traveled the world, rested and restored at Lake Martin and celebrated life. Patty and Jesse were married until he passed away in 2010. After several years, she was reconnected with a childhood friend, John F. Seale, Jr., who had also recently lost his spouse. They married and enjoyed a few short years together until John passed away in 2016.

Patty’s faith and relationship in Jesus were her foundation. She faithfully attended Trinity Presbyterian Church from the 1970’s until her health prohibited her from attending. She was a leader and regular teacher of the Women in the Church at Trinity. Patty was instrumental in bringing Bible Study Fellowship classes to Montgomery and remained involved in class leadership for over 20 years. She loved Jesus!

Patty cherished her family and was most content when she had her family together. Patty did all she could to spend time with her grandchildren and take her family on fun vacations together. She loved her family!

Patty developed lifelong friendships in every season of life and loved inviting friends for a weekend at the lake or the beach, Sunday night waffles after church at the house, or just for an afternoon visit and a cold glass of her beloved tea punch. She loved her friends!

One of Patty’s accomplishments in life was the memories she intentionally created with others. She mastered the art of celebrating holidays and life’s special moments with family and friends around the dining room table. It is unfortunately and tragically ironic that Alzheimer’s slowly took those memories away from her. Those cherished memories, however, will sweetly live in the hearts of the many who love Patty and had the true blessing of enjoying those memories with her.

Family and Friends Visitation will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1728 S Hull St, Montgomery, Alabama 36104, on August 6, 2026, beginning at 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 am, officiated by Rev. Claude E. McRoberts, III.
