

Pearl Gonzales Davis, age 77, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away peacefully on September 8, 2023, surrounded by her family. She bravely fought pancreatic cancer during the last twelve months of her life.
Pearl was born on September 3, 1946, in Alcala, Pangisanan, Philippines. She graduated high school as valedictorian. She went on to earn degrees in Commercial Science and in Commerce and Marketing from Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
Pearl was a world traveler, visiting many places and living in five countries spanning three continents before making a permanent home in the United States. She enjoyed ceramics and playing chess, and found success in her careers in the advertising, marketing, and banking industries before becoming a homemaker when her children were born.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, TSgt (Ret.) Russell Paul Davis, her father, Dionisio Gonzales, and her mother, Benita Gonzales. She is survived by her three children; Brian (Kelly) Davis, Joey (Marjorie Ann) Davis, Christi (Eric) Davis, and her five grandchildren; Riley, Olivia, Asher, Russell, and James Walker.
Pearl was known as “Lola” to her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her world. Her favorite thing to do was to be with her family and watch her grandchildren grow. She loved taking family trips, listening to music, singing and dancing, and spending time at the beach. Her favorite phrase was “let’s have a party”.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at St. Bede Catholic Church, located at 3870 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama, with Father Connor Plessala officiating. The visitation will be held in the church’s Parrish Hall at 1:00 p.m., with the Funeral Mass beginning at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama, where Pearl will be laid to rest near her husband, Paul. Brian Davis, Joey Davis, Eric Minar, and Riley Davis will be serving as pallbearers.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to pilots Tommy Lee, James Sirmon and the Pilots for Christ ministry, and to Joy Harris, RN and the team at Aveanna Hospice for their care, love, and support during Pearl’s final months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monroeville, Alabama chapter of Pilots for Christ.
