Randal “Randy” Morris Pate, born September 22, 1965, in Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Merrywood Lodge in Elmore, Alabama, after a long and extended illness. He was 60 years old.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Edward Morris Pate.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Ginger Brown Pate; his mother, Jimmie Louise Pate; his brothers, Rev. James Edward (Maryann) Pate, Rev. Mark Houston (Lynn) Pate, and Michael Horace (Licia) Pate; his sisters, Willisha (Nikoli) Kelly and Heather (Jerry) Oppenlander; as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.
A dedicated member of First Assembly of God in Millbrook, Randy faithfully served his church and especially enjoyed leading hymn singing. His love for the Lord was evident in his joyful spirit and servant’s heart.
Randy will also be fondly remembered by the many customers he assisted throughout the years while working in sales at Lowe’s and Home Depot in Montgomery. He never met a stranger and had a gift for conversation, always ready with a helping hand and a friendly smile.
In his spare time, Randy enjoyed fishing and spending time talking with anyone he met. He was known for his kindness, compassion, and wonderful sense of humor. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in celebrating the assurance that he is now made whole.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at White Chapel on Lincoln Road at 1:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Eddie Pate and Rev. Mark Pate. A graveside service will follow the chapel service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God, 3511 Shirley Lane, Millbrook, Alabama 36054.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Pate, Corey Jackson, Rob Tollefson, Jerry Oppenlander, Colby Faust, and Spencer Linn.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate and dedicated staff at Merrywood Lodge and Amedisys Hospice for the loving care shown to Randy during his illness.
