Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, William Wiley Nobles, Sr. and Winola Owens; his siblings, William Wiley Nobles, Jr. (Mabelene), Carl Wesley Nobles, Sr. (Bobbie), Duvward Buel Nobles (Vivian), Gertrude Annie Nobles Dunlap (Cecil), John Harman Nobles, and Terry Wendell Nobles (Peggy); and his grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Hamilton and Mary Adalyn (Addy) Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ann Clark Nobles; his daughters, Vickie Riley (Roger), Carolyn Nobles Hamilton (Jay), and Renee Nobles; his grandchildren, Jonathan Riley and Anna-Kathryn Nobles; and his brother, James Nobles (Joan).
Raymond Nobles was a self-made man coming from humble beginnings. He was honest, hard-working, loving, and a devoted husband, father, Papa, and friend to all.
Raymond started working in the glass industry at the age of 16 with his career beginning at Norment Industries in Montgomery, Alabama. At the age of 46, Raymond embarked on his own journey opening Nobles Glass Company, Inc., which thrived for 32 years until his retirement at the age of 78.
Raymond was admired and respected by all who knew him, and had an unwaveringly strong faith in The Lord, who we know he has gone to rest with in eternal peace.
Family and Friends Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, on September 18, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life Chapel Service at 3:00 pm, with entombment in mausoleum following service. Officiants will be Pastor Dean Faust and Shawn York.
Pallbearers will be Tony Burkhalter, Carl Nobles, Jr., Bill Nobles, Glenn Nobles, Wayne Nobles, and Tim Hall.
