Reba Toy Smith Delashaw (July 28, 1927) went to her heavenly home July 2, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brence Delashaw and her son, Jimmy Delashaw. She was a joy to be around and her witty sense of humor will be missed by her loved ones: her daughter, Kathi Rogers (George), her son, Bobby Delashaw (Ouida), her daughter in law, Katye Delashaw; her grandchildren Tyler Delashaw (Darian), Whitney Parrish (Kevin), Abbey Rogers and Sam Rogers, and her three precious great-grandchildren Isabella Colley, Brence and Mackenzie Delashaw; a special niece and nephew Sue Dyar Letson and Roger Dyar, and a special friend Pam Conway Rhodes.
We are grateful for the respectful loving care Crowne Healthcare provided the last year of her life as well as Encompass Hospice. She was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church where she taught many five-year olds but was better known for taking care of the preacher's kids (Cox, Raley, Turner), her sweet tea and cooking catfish for visiting preachers. She was a faithful member of Eastmont Baptist Church for the last 33 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Central Alabama Aging Consortium 2500 Fairlane Drive Suite 200 Montgomery, Alabama 36116.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26(NIV)
