Richard D. Young Sr.

Richard D. Young Sr., age 63, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at his home following a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Born to Lucious Walters Young and Joyce Holley Young, Richard was preceded in death by his parents, whose integrity and strength he carried with him throughout his life. Richard shared nearly two decades of marriage with his loving wife, Deborah “Debbie” Young.

Rick loved his children Amber Tripi (Aaron), Darryl Young (Katey), and Trista Waters. He felt his life was richly blessed by his 5 grandchildren that he loved and cherished, Madison Waters, Harper, Grayson and Riley Rose Tripi, and Elijah Young. He is survived by his only brother Walt Young (Laura).

Rick enjoyed spending time outdoors deer hunting, fishing and especially duck hunting with his beloved four-legged best friend, Shadow. He was an avid Alabama football fan. He loved spending time and sharing fun and laughter with his family and friends. For over 40 years he was the proud owner of a self-made and successful business, Comfort Air, Inc.

Rick was a dedicated member of the Church of the Highlands, where he served his church community as a greeter and was the host of his Ramer Men's Small Group. A Visitation for Richard will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Church of the Highlands, 4255 Taylor Rd., Montgomery, AL 36117, followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.
