Bob Donahue went home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2015. He is predeceased by his parents, Dr. William F. and Charlotte Donahue, and his brother, Col. William "Billy" Donahue, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Regina Gay Phillips Donahue; his son, Mike Donahue; his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Scott Torode; his grandsons, Stewart, Elliot and Ellison Torode; his sister, Ruth Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Manchester, Georgia and attended Montgomery, AL public schools until high school, where he attended and graduated from Starke Military Academy. He attended Auburn
University and the University of Tampa where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration.
A jet-fighter pilot, Bob's career in the United States Air Force took him and his family all over the world. He served in two major conflicts, Korea and Vietnam, where he flew more than 100 missions over Hanoi. He belonged to both the 357th Fighter Squadron and the 405th Air Wing, flying the F-86 Sabre, the F-100 Super Sabre and the F-105 Thunderchief. In 1955, at the height of the Cold War, he shot down a hostile Soviet MiG. Over the course of his military career he earned 2 Silver Stars, 4 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 12 Air Medals, an Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Cross.
Bob's hobbies included golf, boating, Auburn football, and music. A selfless, generous, and
loving man, Bob always looked to the needs of others. Many young people learned how to water ski under his instruction, and he was a father figure to many.
Bob's faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his family, were the most important things in his life. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery, Alabama and he served as a volunteer at the Caring Center of First Baptist.

Visitation will be held in the Stakely Chapel of First Baptist Church on Thursday, June 4, from
1:00-2:00, with the funeral starting at 2:00. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church
