Robert Hunt Hudson Jr.

Robert Hunt Hudson, Jr, 83, of Montgomery, Alabama, went to be with his Lord on November 9, 2019. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara Calloway Hudson, daughter, Donna (Billy) Allen, son, Jim (Kim) Henderson, three grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Allen, Clay (Stephanie) Henderson, John (Katie) Henderson and seven great-grandchildren. Great-grandchildren include Isabella, Dalton, Elizabeth Grace, Olivia, Jaycee, Annabelle, and Hayden. Nephews are Joe (Annastasia) Hanna and Mike (Lori) Hanna. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, 2:00 PM at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Glenn Graham. Pallbearers will be Terry Stoyek, Steve Callahan, Stan Holley, Bryan Easley, Mike Wethington, and Roger Townley. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of East Memorial Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Greenwood Serenity Gardens. The family wishes to express a special thank you to his caregivers, Mary, Cara, Tonya, and Comfort Care Hospice.

Robert was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Navy (after “fibbing” about his age so that he could enlist at age 17). He worked at Brockway Glass in Montgomery for many years, eventually retiring from there. Robert came to know Jesus as his Savior in his teens. He and Barbara attended East Memorial Baptist Church in Prattville after they moved there in 2000. Robert was elected as a deacon and served his Lord faithfully and well for many years.

He was loved by all who knew him. He was a “people-person”. He loved people and especially loved his family. We will miss him dearly.
