

Born in Tuscaloosa on October 28, 1944, he spent his early years in Carrollton and Reform. Robert became a star athlete at Baldwin Junior High School in Montgomery, lettering in track. He attended Sidney Lanier High School before joining the Alabama Air National Guard. His education continued at John Patterson Technical College, where he studied auto body repair, and began a career that spanned more than four decades. Robert was employed by Cobb-Kirkland Motors as an estimator. In later years, he transitioned into auto insurance as an adjuster before retiring in 2014.
Robert enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and wrestling, and was a big fan of Alabama football. You could also find him taking long walks in the park, listening to the sounds of nature. Robert found pleasure in watching the birds and changes in the weather, and had many favorite TV shows, including documentaries about the unknown and mysterious.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Mansfield Mullins, Sr, and Lee M Yancey, niece Dana Pouncey, treasured cousin Laurie Cummings, and daughter-in-law Robyn Proffer. Robert is survived by his children, Chrystine Holcomb of Maricopa, AZ, Beth Robertson (Bruce) of Prattville, and Scott Mullins of Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Shannyn Warrick (Tyler) of Chandler, AZ, Dale Holcomb (Anna) of San Angelo, TX, Bailey and Braydon Robertson of Prattville, Rhiannon, Evie, and Cailey Mullins, of Montgomery; and great-grandson, Silas Warrick of Chandler, AZ.
Funeral will be held Monday, March 16 at Leak Memory Funeral Home - 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, AL 36109. Visitation for family at noon. Receiving friends at 1:00 pm, followed by a Graveside Service at 2:00 pm.
