Robert Reese Rainey Sr.

He is survived by his son, Robert Reese Rainey, Jr., and his siblings Wyman Rainey (Patricia) and Floranne Etheridge (Lonnie) and their families. Known to his family and friends as “Reese”, was born in Greenville, AL on November 11, 1949, to parents Wyman Garlon Rainey, Sr. and Flora Bell Olive.

He graduated from Greenville High School and went on to attend Florida State University in 1968. Reese graduated from Florida State University in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and spent many years working in the Public Finance Industry. While attending Florida State University, he played linebacker on FSU’s football team where he formed lifelong friendships. He was an avid supporter of Florida State Football, and many wonderful memories were made while attending FSU games.

Reese was a kind, jovial and social man who never met a stranger. His distinct laugh and sweet smile will be missed. A Celebration of Life function will be held - details to follow at a later date.
