Griffin, Sally Monk, age 91 of Montgomery, AL passed away on March 10, 2012 of a sudden illness. She was born to Lou Emma Wilson Monk and Willie Green Monk on November 29, 1920 in Ware, AL. She was the widow of Husband, Jay N. Griffin who passed away in 1974. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Emma McCraken, Edna Wade, Alice Thornell and brother, Austin Monk. She was a retired employee of the State of Alabama and a longtime member of Capitol Heights Baptist Church. She had been a resident of The Cedars Assisted Living Home in Montgomery since 2005. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Griffin of Selma, AL and Debra DeSouza of Destin, FL. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Jay Christopher McGraw and Mea Leeza DeSouza of Destin, FL. A memorial service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, AL on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. She will be buried in the cemetery in Friendship, AL.
