

Samuel Lonnie Law, age 83, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Samuel was born October 11, 1938, to Marion Mutt Law and Mary Elizabeth Mallory Law of Elmore, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Carol Reynolds. Sam is survived by his present wife, Marilyn S. Law; his sister, Peggy L. Stevens (Bucky); his nephew, Mark Stevens; his stepson, Tommy Jacques Jr. (Leslie) and step granddaughter, Maggie Jacques.
A graduate of Holtville High School, Troy State College and Auburn University, he worked with the State of Alabama for 37 years within the area of Industrial Relations with the Internal Revenue Service. An active member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery, Sam had a heart for people and enjoyed helping others. In retirement he delighted in his role as a volunteer at the hospital. An avid Auburn football fan, he was also devoted to his terriers, Toby and Gabriel. He will be remembered as one who loved his family and friends deeply.
A family and friends visitation for Sam will be held Monday, October 10, 2022, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the family and friends visitation will be a celebration of life graveside service at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Jacques, Jr. and Mark Stevens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Elmore County Humane Society would be appreciated.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all friends, Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care, their doctors and nurses as well as our special sitter, Ms. Gail Chappell.
