Miss Sammie Culbert, 94, a resident of Montgomery, AL died Thursday, February 23, 2012 in Montgomery, AL. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11 AM at Tabernacle Church Cemetery in Ethelsville, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus, MS directing. Miss Culbert was born in Oklahoma and grew up in Alpine, TX. She was a member of Whitfield Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include her brother-in-law, Johnnie W. Owens (Sarah); niece Marilyn Cepeda (Manuel) and her children, Michael Palmero (Charlotte) & Allie LaVigne (Josh) and a great number of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Julia Culbert and a sister, Sara Culbert Owens. Memorial contributions may be made to Whitfield Memorial United Methodist Church 2673 Fisk Rd. Montgomery, AL 36111, The United Methodist Children’s Home or to one’s favorite charity. A memorial service will be held at Whitfield Memorial UMC on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 10 AM.
