Sammy grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and joined the United States Air Force right out of high school. After serving four years of active duty, he became an Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Administration. In his spare time, he enjoyed building classic cars, playing cards, square dancing, hunting, fishing and Alabama football. He is survived by his sons; Tommy Savage (Debbie), Joey Savage, Mitch Savage (Lee), and Bill Savage. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren; Sam, Michelle, Kyle, Blakely, Turner and great grandchildren; Kalyann and Sierra.
A memorial service for Sammy Savage will be held at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home (909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109) on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity in Sammy’s memory.
