

Joyce was born January 17, 1932 in Hartford, AL to Arba Homer Blount and Lena Hundley Blount. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Helen Jean Burch, brother Billy Blount and dear husband Porter Huff.
Joyce is survived by her children: Cindy (Mike) Davis, Patty (Billy) Phillips and Tammy (Mike) Free. She was blessed with twelve grandchildren: Lindsey (Jeremy) Dickey, Brittany (Stephen) Northington, Josh (Katey) Free, Lauren (Jonathan) Gober, Justin (Lacie) Free and Brooke (Zack) Warren, ten precious great-grandchildren and numerous close relatives and friends.
Faith, family and friends were truly the most important treasures of her life. Cooking for others was her love language and every meal was definitely served with love.
She was a longtime member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church where she enjoyed being a faithful member of her Sunday School class and ministering to homebound members. Singing in the Senior Adult Choir brought her such joy.
A resident of Montgomery, AL since the 1950’s, she witnessed many changes within our city. Joyce retired from the State of Alabama where she worked in several departments and made lifelong friends.
The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to caregivers Brenda and Ethel for the compassionate care given over the extended illness and to CenterWell Home Health and Southern Care Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Leak Memory Chapel Montgomery, AL. Family and friends will gather for her visitation at 10:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m., Dr. Rick Marshall officiating. Grandsons will lovingly serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Hwy., Montgomery, AL 36117.
Flowers will be accepted or donations to Eastern Hills Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
