Born February 3, 1935, Sarah moved to Montgomery from Albertville in 1960, making Montgomery, Alabama her home for the many years that followed.
Sarah devoted her working life to education, serving as a high school teacher at Sidney Lanier. She was also a faithful member of Dalraida Methodist Church.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Lemmie Wibanks and Emily Morton, and by her husband of 51 years, George Meriwether II. She is survived by her son, George Meriwether III and his wife, Stephanie; her grandchildren, Leah Nicole Meriwether and Tyler Christian Kennedy; and her great-granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Kennedy. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Jean Reynolds, and her nieces, Linda Ruth Word and Janet Willis.
Family and Friends Visitation will be held October 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Chapel Service will be held October 13, 2026, at 2:00 pm at White Chapel Greenwood, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, US.
