Sharon Lynn McDaniel, 85, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on October 11, 2026. Born March 23, 1941, Sharon’s life was marked by steady devotion to those she loved and a quiet strength that carried her through life’s changes with grace.
Sharon moved from Cincinnati, Ohio in April 1976 and made Montgomery her home, building a life rooted in family and enduring connection. She deeply loved her husband of 30 years, Charles E. McDaniel, and carried that love with her always. In the years following his death, Sharon embraced a new spiritual path, transitioning to Judaism and becoming active at Temple Beth Or—an expression of thoughtful reflection and sincere commitment.
Above all, Sharon cherished her family, holding a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. Her care extended naturally to the companions who shared her days as well, as she also loved her pets and found comfort in their presence.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, Charles E. McDaniel; her son, James H. McDaniel; her father, William Gore; and her mother, Irma Biesack Gore.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey McDaniel (Charlene); her daughter, Jennifer Ray; her grandchildren, Benjamin Ray, Kelsey Hoggatt, Zachary Ray, Hannah Strickland (Rob), Ellen McDaniel, Emily Euchner (Clint), Kayla McDaniel and Hayden McDaniel; and her brother, Jim Gore (Julie).
