Shirley Ellen Blevins

Shirley E. Blevins, 89, of Montgomery, AL went to her heavenly reward on July 27, 2022. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 officiated by Dr. Teman Knight at Heritage Baptist Church, Montgomery. Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2:00 pm with the service to follow. Interment will be in Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens with White Chapel Funeral Home directing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph K. Blevins, parents, Okey Curtis and Reba Smith, sister, Eleanor Osborne, and brothers, Tom & Frank Smith, and her son-in-law, Jon Porter. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Pat Porter, Montgomery, and Lori (Cameron) Olive, Florence, granddaughters, Hallie (Marcus) Levy, Willmore, KY and Katelyn Olive, Nashville, TN and her nephew, who she loved like a son, Jeff (Angela) Osborne, Mooresville, NC. Her love of Jesus and children led her to teach 2nd grade Sunday School at Heritage Baptist and Southside Baptist, Montgomery, for more than 40 years. She also worked as a substitute teacher for over 25 years for elementary schools of the Montgomery Public School System. She was involved with the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Montgomery and throughout the State of Alabama for over 35 years.
