

Steven is preceded in death by his father, Wilson Michaud; mother, Ida Mae Michaud; and sister, Constance Denslow. He is survived by his loving wife, Jana Michaud; son, Matt Michaud; daughter, Leslie Akins; stepson, Andrew Gilmore; sister, Judy Pujo; and grandchild, Emily Michaud.
Steve joined in the Army in 1966. His early service to his country included a 1968-1969 tour of duty in Vietnam as a Warrant Officer helicopter pilot with 101st Airborne Division. He later continued his military service as an Air Ambulance helicopter pilot with the Alabama Army National Guard where he achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (CW4) before retiring after some forty years of total service. . Following retirement, Steve continued his love for flying helicopters for a time in the private sector. Steve's numerous military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, several Air Medals, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Master Army Aviator Badge. He retired from the military in 2006 after 40 years of service.
Steve also worked at Montgomery TV Station, WSFA-12, for over 20 years, rising from projectionist and camera man to National Sales Manager.
Steve was known to always have confidence in his words and would always tell you exactly what he thought! Working with his hands gave him the reputation of being the man that could fix and build anything. He celebrated his love and pride for The Auburn Tigers as well as cherishing his family.
A Funeral Service for Steven will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Stakley Manor Chapel, 305 S Perry St, Montgomery, AL 36104 with a public visitation taking place one hour prior. A graveside service will occur Monday, March 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
