Sue Lindsey, a gentle, hard-working, honest, and wise soul, passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on July 4, 1931, in Elmore County, Alabama, Sue was a beloved resident of Montgomery, Alabama, where she lived a life full of love, dedication, and service.
Sue was employed by the State of Alabama Tax Board, where she worked diligently until the age of 75. Her commitment and integrity were evident in her long and successful career. In her personal time, Sue enjoyed collecting coins, a hobby that brought her much joy and satisfaction.
A devoted member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Sue was actively involved in her community, always willing to lend a helping hand and share her wisdom with others.
Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawson Lindsey Jr., her father, Leroy Bush, her mother, Zerna Bush, her son, Steve Lindsey, and her daughter, Dawn Ziegler. She is survived by her sons, Dana Lindsey and Jerry Lindsey, her grandchildren, Amber Lindsey, Steve Phillips, Lindsey Preffer, Darren Lindsey, and Stephanie Fitzpatrick, as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on October 20, 2025, at Leak Memory Chapel, located at 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, starting at 1:30 pm. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, AL 36109, with a processional forming at Leak Memory Chapel around 1:50 pm.
Sue's legacy of kindness, hard work, and honesty will be cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
