Theda Ann Mims

Theda was born in Clanton, Alabama on February 22, 1948. She graduated from Clanton High School in 1965. Later that year she married her husband Billy and moved to Montgomery, Alabama. While her children were young she was a stay at home mother and worked tirelessly on the PTA boards of Peter Crump Elementary and Cloverdale Junior High Schools. She made her home a place where her children and their friends could come and hang out and there was always something good to eat. Theda was an active member of Pinedale Baptist Church for 50 years, and served as Church Secretary for over 20 years.

Theda is preceded in death by Billy Joe Mims, her husband of 59 years; her parents Robert and Evelyn Windham; and her brother Lee Windham. She is survived by her daughters Angelia Mims Bowen (Gary) and Ashley Mims Hughes (Jay); brother John Cathey; sisters Lynn Windham Price and Shannon Windham Gray; and her four precious grandchildren Patrick Mims Bowen, Cassidy Lynn Bowen, Sean Harris Bowen (Meaghon), and Natalie Erin Hughes.

Friends and Family Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, US, on June 10, 2026, at 10:00 am.

A Celebration of Life Chapel Service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, US, on June 10, 2026, at 11:00 am, with burial to follow at Mt. Nebo Methodist Church Cemetery.
