Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Guthrie and his brother, Cecil Guthrie.
He was a graduate of Sydney Lanier High school and received a bachelor degree from Troy state university.
Thomas was employed by Delta Airlines for 32 years.
Thomas loved Auburn football and playing golf.
A gathering of friends to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date.
