Greg Guthrie, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from natural causes while on a business trip. Greg was born on October 1, 1966 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He graduated from Vestavia Hills High School in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. He was a graduate of Auburn University. After college, Greg moved to Atlanta where he spent most of his career in the financial services industry and as a corporate trainer. Greg was an outgoing people person who loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a special love for music and one of his favorite hobbies, boxing.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Maxine Brown, and Herbert and Harriet; his uncle, Pete Guthrie and his cousin Mike Guthrie. He is survived by his loving wife Xan Guthrie; children Taylor and Christopher; his pet, Baby Cat; parents, Gregg and Judy Guthrie, Betty and Jim LeNoir (in-laws); his sister Paige and her husband David Hodges; his brother, David, and his wife Alyssa Guthrie; his brother-in-law Cain Payton; his sister-in-law Sisi and Mitchell Smith; his nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Rachel and David Guthrie Jr., and Cruise and Cole Smith.
The memorial and burial will be held on Monday, March 21, at noon at Leak Memory Chapel (945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109).
