

Dr. Thomas Pope Moseley, Sr (Tommy) aged 93, died on September 3, 2024. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Johnnie Hollis Moseley, parents, Ernest B. and Ida Brooks Moseley and brother Ernest B. Moseley, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Gail Moseley, daughter Elizabeth M. Taylor (Billy) of Dunbar, WV, son, Rev. Thomas Pope Moseley, Jr. (Vickie) of Manchester, GA, stepdaughter, Dee Vojta (Rick) of Galena, Illinois. Tommy’s grandchildren are Courtney Moseley Obrien (Matt) of Ringgold, GA, Elizabeth Herring Moseley of Ridgeland, Miss., Forrest Brooks Clensy (Kelsey) of Marysville, OH, Matt Vojta (Tina) of Salt Lake City, Utah and great grandchildren, Molly and Evan O’Brien, Matilda and Ada Clensy and Edith Dinh Vojta. His sister, Sarah Arnold (Terry) of Montevallo, AL and brother-in-law, Buster Hollis (Marty) of Panama City, FL and sister-in-law, Brenda Thornton (Paul) of Montgomery, AL. He is also survived by his work family whom he loved dearly. His greatest love was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, then his family, his friends, and his beloved patients.
Tommy was born December 6, 1930 in Montgomery, Alabama, graduated Sidney Lanier High School, the University Alabama where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, and graduated dental school at University of Alabama Birmingham. He served his country as a fighter pilot in the USAF attaining the rank of Captain. He served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Cloverdale Baptist Church, past President Second District Dental Society, past Secretary Treasurer Alabama Dental Association , Delegate to American Dental Association, Fellow of the International College of Dentistry, Most Excellent Fellow of Alabama Dental Association, President of the Alabama Dental Foundation, member of Second District Dental Society, Alabama Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Tommy was also a recipient of the Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award. Tommy and his wife Gail are members of Taylor Road Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Reverend Thomas P. Moseley, Jr. will be officiating the funeral service. The family will hold visitation at Leak-Memory Chapel on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM. The Service of Death and Resurrection will follow at 11:00 AM.
Pallbearers are F. Brooks Clensy, Richard Scott Hollis, Richard Lamar Moore, Ernest B. Moseley III, Matthew C. O’Brien and John Paul Thornton with Wayne Earnest, David Foster, and Andrew Nolin serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Taylor Road Baptist Church or any charity of your choosing.
