On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Lord called Tim Lee home. He passed unexpectedly, yet peacefully in his sleep. Tim Lee didn’t just love, boy he loved BIG. Exaggerated, multiplied, overflowing. His love broke through barriers (444).
When most people pass, we say, if you knew them, you loved them. But with Tim, it was different: if you knew him, he loved you. He was known for texting hundreds of people a day, always with encouragement, a word of the day, Scripture, or a favorite song. He made everyone feel like his best friend, and he meant it with all of his heart. Tim gave away countless purple pens printed with his reminder that “Life can change on a dime,” a truth spoken to him by his late friend Craig Hopson. If you knew Tim, you probably also had a picture with him; one he would send back to you again and again, to remind you that you mattered, God loves you, and to L-I-V-E.
Tim loved God, loved his wife, loved his church, loved his fam, loved his friends, and he loved his LSU Tigers. He was a proud graduate of Faulkner University, where he built friendships and a foundation that shaped his ministry and love for people. Tim had a special place in his heart and ministry to those struggling with addictions. More than anything, he loved people. Goodness did that man live life!
Tim was the heartbeat of the Landmark Church. His love and encouragement lifted us all and will forever be part of our church family.
Tim is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 40 years, Sharon Wadsworth Lee; his son, Tabor Wayne Lee (Montgomery, AL); his daughters, Priscilla (Prissy) Montiel and her husband, Diego Montiel of Birmingham, AL, and Sabrina Cauthen and her husband, Shelby of Denver, CO; and grandchildren Xavi Montiel and Léo Montiel. He is also survived by his brother Larry Lee (Baton Rouge, LA), and sisters Pam Lee Heminway (Illinois) and Brenda Lee Crump (Tennessee).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold Lee and Evelyn Winstead Lee, and by his two best friends, Craig Hopson and Mark Courson. There’s comfort in knowing they’re together again.
Visitation will be held September 8, 9:00–10:45 AM, followed by a Celebration of His Big Life at 11:00 AM, all at Landmark Church of Christ, Montgomery, AL.
Tim’s family rejoices knowing he now rests with the God of the breaking through (4:44).
Praise God for his full life, and GEAUX Tigers!
