

peacefully in his sleep early Monday morning January 25, 2021 after a five week battle
with brain cancer. Tom was born in Monticello, Arkansas and resided in El Dorado, Arkansas the majority
of his life before relocating to Alabama. Tom was the son of Gwen (Georgia) Bell
Phillips Pennington and Jerry Wayne Pennington. Tom was a faithful Christian, a loving
husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He often put others before himself. When not working,
you could find Tom cutting his neighbors' grass and always offering a helping hand.
Tom spent the majority of his career from 1995-2014 in El Dorado, Arkansas at AMS
UtiliServe / Accu-Read. Relocating to Alabama presented him with a new career
opportunity that he often talked about pursuing. He went to truck driving school and
started his new career path with Wiley Sanders from 2016-2018 and was with Shoreline
from 2018-2020. Tom's biggest priority in life was taking care of his family. Tom had a
great passion for the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and grilling. Tom
shared his passion for hunting with his daughter. He also enjoyed trips back to Arkansas
to visit family. Anyone who knew Tom would say that his infectious smile would light
up the room when he walked in. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wayne Pennington; his grandmother and grandfather, Mattie Jo Phillips and Tommy Phillips; and his aunt, Willie Jo Bond
(Frank). Tom is survived by his loving wife, Delilah Jean (Beck) Pennington. Tom and Delilah
were married on Valentine's Day 1997 in Crossett, Arkansas. They were together a total
of 29 years counting their courtship. Tom and Delilah have two children, William
(Junior) Beck and Haleigh Cheyanne Pennington (Anthony). Tom is also survived by his mother, Georgia Pennington; father-in-law, Gene Beck (Ruby); mother-in-law, Darlene Harrod (John); sister-in-law, Carla Geremia (Giaco); brother-in-law, Houston Harrod and brother-in-law, James Beck.
Tom leaves behind three brothers: Jeff Pennington (Vicki) of Junction City, Arkansas;
James Pennington (Kerry Jo) of El Dorado, Arkansas; Steve Pennington of Junction
City, Arkansas; and a sister, Janette Ramirez (Robert) of Hamburg, Arkansas; seven
nephews: Justin Pennington (Kristen), Rayvan Ramirez (Markie), Roman Ramirez (Makenzie),
Bobby Ramirez (Tiffany), Cole Hannegan, Johnny Beck (Tamara), and Nicholas Beck;
five nieces: Tiffany Dison (Justin), Madilyn Ramirez, Preslee Pennington, Natalie
Mosley (Michael), Amber Beck; great nieces and nephews: Hunter Pennington,
Emmaline Pennington, Carter Murphy, Noah Dison, Ava Ramirez, Everly Ramirez,
Ryker Ramirez, Ella Orrell, Mia Mondragon, William Mondragon, Kinley Hannegan,
Linkyn Hannegan, Skylar Mosley, Braylei Mosley, Mason Beck, John Luke Beck,
Eliajah Beck, and Lyric Taylor. Tom also leaves behind five pets and a host of friends
and loved ones. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their kindness
and compassion during this difficult time. The family wishes to express their deep
appreciation and gratitude to everyone who contributed with food, money, kind words,
and prayers. The outpouring of love and support received means so much. A visitation for Tom is set for Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 10:00 am at Leak Memory Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am. Rev. Jack Cates will be officiating.
