

Vivian S. Homan, born on September 4, 1931, in Alabama, passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 94. A long-time resident of Montgomery, Alabama, Vivian moved to the area in 1968 from Fultondale, Alabama.
Vivian was a dedicated professional, serving as a Regional Manager for Alfa Insurance Company until her retirement in 1992. She was married to Howard Homan in 1949, and they shared 43 wonderful years together. Vivian leaves behind a loving family, including her son Lee H. Homan, and two daughters, Debra H. Wakefield (married to George Wakefield) and Janet H. Adkins. Her legacy extends to 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Charlie L. Shelton, her mother Lovie C. Shelton, two brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by one sister, Francis Boyd.
An active member of Taylor Road Baptist Church, Vivian cherished her time in Bible study and enjoyed playing dominoes. Her kind spirit and love for her community will be dearly missed.
A visitation will take place at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, located at 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama, on February 24, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, also located at 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama, starting at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Amedisys Hospice. Vivian's warmth and generosity touched many lives, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
