Wallace F. (Buck) Horton passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2019. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII. At 19 years old, he observed the U.S. flag raising atop Mount Suribachi, during the battle of Iwo Jima.
Shortly thereafter, he was actively involved in the amphibious invasion of Normandy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen C. Horton. Buck is survived by: his daughters Patsie DeMo (Fred) and Debbie Hough (Mike), his grandchildren Emily Holder (Greg) and Joe Hough, his two great grandchildren Jackson Holder and Nora Holder. Buck is also survived by Helen's children Albert Lee (Linda) and Charlotte Sullivan (Larry), 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren as well as a beloved caregiver, Deloris Hunter.
A visitation is set for Friday, January 18 at 1:00 pm in White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home with a 2:00 pm Graveside Service to follow in Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens.
