

Walter Alvin Forbus, 85, and a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Walter's beloved wife, Frances, followed him to their heavenly home one day later on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
He was the son of the late Arnold Arthur Forbus and the late Etta Laverne Fuller Forbus.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Wayne Forbus, Ronald Forbus and Raymond Forbus and his sister Ruby Dean.
Walter was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and proudly served for 10 years. He later retired as the Hatchery Manager at Sylvest Farms after 27 years.
He was a member of Catoma Baptist Church and loved his Sunday School class and taking trips with the Senior Group for whom he drove the church bus.
He is survived and beloved by his son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Angela Forbus; daughters and sons-in-law Teresa and Jason Price, and Rhonda and Scott Slaughter.
He was a loving PawPaw to 9 grandchildren; Daniel, Derek, Kevin, Cody (Nicole), Justin (Erin), Brittany, Jessica (Tyler), Joshua and Jason as well as 5 great grandchildren; Ayden, Sullivan, Rowen, Reagan and Isla. He is also survived by his brother, James Forbus (Marcia), sisters-in-law Marie Morrison and Martha Forbus, numerous nieces and nephews, who he loved as his own, and a host of friends.
Memorial donations can be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service for Walter and his wife will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Catoma Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Golson officiating with Visitation beginning one hour before at 1:00 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery with Military honors.
