Mr. Walter J. Friday III

Walter J. Friday III, 81, a resident of Montgomery passed away on September 12, 2012 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born on February 5, 1931 in Macon, Mississippi to his parents, Walter Friday, Jr. and Alva O’Reagan Friday. A graduate of Missippi State Jr. College he also attended Mississippi State. Walter was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from Sears after 25 years service as a Service Technician. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette Mastin Friday; sons: Warren David Friday and Shane Friday (Laurin), granddaughter Taylor Friday and sisters-in-law Lucy Buffalow and Mary Mainor. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday, September 14, 2012 at Leak Memory Chapel with visitation beginning at 1 pm. Rev. Larry Armstrong will be officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Mark McIntosh, Troy Worrell, Larry Hanson, Ken Anthony, Roland Fletcher and Wayne Parker. Honorary pallbearers are the Hurley Sunday School Class and John Oliver. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3604 Pleasant Ridge Rd., Montgomery, AL 36109 or to ones favorite charity.
