William R. Baggett Jr.

BAGGETT, Jr., William R. (Bob) age 93, passed away in a local hospital on Thursday, April 21, 2011, after a courageous battle with an extended illness. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, with Pastor Tommy Roy of Posey’s Crossroad Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at Leak Memory Chapel. Mr. Baggett was preceded in death by his parents Mary Madeline Whiddon Baggett and William R. Baggett, Sr. and his sister Willie Madeline Baggett. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Meeker Baggett, daughters, Linda Baggett Gafford (John) and Bobbye Baggett (David), grandson Bryan Gafford, and loving pet Abbye. Mr. Baggett served in the U. S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific Theater. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 1973. The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to David Schmalenberger, who took such good care of “PapPaw”.
