Mr. William Burkhalter

William C. (Bill) Burkhalter passed away on June 25, 2025 at the age of 90 with his wife and daughter by his side. Bill was born on March 27, 1935 in Selma and grew up mainly in Tallassee, Alabama. After high school and serving 4 years in the US Army, he attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute and was in one of the first few classes that had Auburn University on their diploma when he graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting. He worked for a private accounting firm then joined the Banking Department for the State of Alabama as a bank examiner where he remained until his retirement.

Bill was proceeded in death by his parents J.N. and Lorene Burkhalter and his sister and brother-in-law Jeanette and Fred Gulledge. He is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Angelyn Burkhalter and his daughter, Paige Burkhalter Siker along with cousins, nephews, one niece and many friends that loved him.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Leak Memory Chapel with Reverend Mark Osgood officiating, followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, prior to the funeral.
