William Oliver "Sam" Evans

EVANS, William Oliver “Sam”, 88, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 21, 2015. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 65 years, Frances Evans; sister, Barbara Gross; children, Curtis Evans (Linda), Dianne Presley (David), and Linda Alonzo (Chip); grandchildren, Kelly Bargainer (Jordan), Crystal Moore (Michael), Mike Presley (Amy), Kim Alonzo, and Lisa Presley; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Emma, Ashton, Mary Curtis, Bee, Addison, William, Charlie and Benjamin.

Sam was a dedicated follower of Christ who loved spending time with his family. He was a World War II Navy veteran and enjoyed a 26-year career with W.S. Newell Construction in Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015, at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, with burial to follow at Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, and 1-2 p.m. Monday, at Leak Memory.

The family offers a special thanks to Hospice of Montgomery for all their tender, loving care for Sam. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Montgomery.
