William G. Jones, Sr., fondly known as Bill Jones, 92 years young, died on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 8:10 P.M. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Karl Stegall officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the graveside services at Leak-Memory Chapel. Bill served his country in the Army under General Eisenhower. He also served in many jobs in his lifetime, working at Tubbs Grocery Store, the Health Department, and as a gravedigger at Greenwood Cemetery as a boy. He also was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Bill is survived by his son, W. Greg Jones, Jr.; daughter, Kathryn Jones; grandson, Will G. Jones, III; great-grandson, Hayes Richardson Jones; sister, Blanche Brougher; two half-brothers, Walter and John; and half-sister, Marie Beasley.
