William Henry Kilgore III

Kilgore, William Henry III (Bill), 68, died on Sunday, January 11, 2015. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Paul Hard officiating.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy R. and W. H. Kilgore, Jr., his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy K. and Robert L. Hartin, and their son, Robert L. Hartin, Jr. Survivors include his sister, Pat K. Kyser (Jerry) and their children Jake Kyser (Anna), Paige K. Morrow (Dorsey), Kimberly K. Barranco (Brent) of Birmingham, AL, his niece LeAnn Joswick (Mike) of Denver, CO, his aunt, Mary Nell Brandel of Boca Raton, FL, and Norman Paul Wagner, Jr., his life-long friend and partner. He also is survived by many great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Bill was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and the University of Alabama with an M.A. degree in journalism, where he was a member of Sigma Delta Chi and editor of The Crimson White newspaper. He was a volunteer for several community organizations and was President of the Montgomery Little Theater where he produced, directed, and starred in many productions. He spent most of his career in retail fine jewelry management and retired from Dillards/Gayfers in 2006.
