Mr. William Donald "Don" Mahone Sr.

William Donald “Don” Mahone, Sr., 76, of Montgomery passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012. Don was born on September 18, 1935 in Luverne, AL and received his BS degree in Physical Education/Science from the University of Montevallo. He spent over 30 years in the field of Vocational Rehabilitation and Mental Health and retired in 1996 from the State Department of Mental Health & Mental Retardation. His parents preceded Don in death: William Fletcher and Geraldine Mahone of Luverne, AL and brother Gerald Mahone of Huntsville, AL. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Mary Kathryn “Kaki” Mahone; Sons: Don Mahone, Jr. and wife Missy of Lilburn, Ga and their children: Will and Tori; Keith Mahone and wife Sherry of Montgomery and their children Erica, Evan and Emily; Brian Mahone and wife Susanne of Loxley, AL; Sisters: Barbara Ann McKinney and husband Paul of Robertsdale, AL; Priscilla Tracey and husband Irv of Colorado Springs, Co. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, June 15, 2012 at Leak Memory Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday, June 16 at Leak Memory Chapel with Brother Buddy Champion officiating. Pallbearers are Matt McKinney, Steve McKinney, Mike Kendrick, Mark Bruton, Robbie Gillespie and Gary Garner. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Upton, Bob Couch and George Partridge. Special thanks to Jane Bruton and the ministry of Saint James United Methodist Church for continuous family support.
