William Joseph "Billy" Melson went to be with his Heavenly Father October 14, 2024. He was 56 years old, born June 23, 1968. He had the biggest heart, sweetest face and most pure genuine heart. Everyone who knew him felt his sincere kindness towards them. He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Sue Wallace (Bunch), admired stepfather Laverne Wallace, biological father Joseph "Joe" Carol Melson and infant sister Regina Hays.
He was a loving husband to his first grade girlfriend and wife Stephanie Walker Melson. He was a wonderful
father to his daughter Cameron Kay Melson and his son Caden McThiery Melson. He had two older brothers Richard Clarence Hays and Reverend Cecil Marion Hays. Billy never met a stranger and made friends no matter where he traveled. To list them all would be absolutely impossible but his three closest friends were Amos Franklin "Julio" Pilot, Charles "Chalie" Wolfrom and Derek Light. He was an iron worker and crane operator his entire life and loved his trade. He was a hard and dedicated worker at Mabe Steele Incorporated and truly loved his crew and coworkers tremendously and had even stayed in contact with many previous employers and crane operators from years past. Billy attended New Hope Church with his wife.
A memorial will be in his honor November 2, 2024 at 10 am at New Hope Church 4360 McFarland Road, Theodore Alabama 36582. A Gofundme account was established to assist with final arrangements and in lieu of flowers. Heaven gained another precious Angel as we have lost a precious loved one who will be greatly missed.
