

William (Billy) Nutt, 83, went to heaven on November 1, 2017 in Gulf Shores, Al. Rev. Nutt was a long time resident of Montgomery, Alabama and a long time member of Southlawn Baptist Church. He graduated from Howard College (Samford), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY. He was a retired minister of Goshen Baptist Church and Millry Baptist Church. He was also retired from the Alabama Baptist Convention. During his lifetime Rev. Nutt touched and influenced many lives from all walks of life through his unique and quiet and unassuming manners. He was preceded in death by his parents Weaver and Paula Leysath Nutt of Fort Deposit and his first wife Geraldine Sparkman Nutt. They were married for 50 years. He is survived by his wife Harlean, whom he has been married to for 11 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Kim Mills, son in law Mark Mills, sons Kendall Nutt, Kevin Nutt (Frances) and Kedric Nutt and his wife Shelley. Mr. Nutt is also survived by his step children; Marty Hoffman (Sherry), Johnny Hoffman (Charlene), Sandra Armistead (Sid), Jeff Hoffman. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hunter Mills, Kelcey Dillon (Jon), Leighton Nutt, Obie Nutt, Eli Nutt, John Douglas, Madison and Hannah Nutt. Brother in law Mike Sparkman of Huntsville, Alabama. He is also survived by his step grandchildren David Gant (Beate), Eric Gant (Kayla), Jacob Hoffman (Payton), Garrett Hoffman (Chelsea Day), Chelsea Hoffman Green (Logan), Jessalyn Hoffman and Justin Edward Hoffman, along with many great grandchildren. A visitation for Rev. Nutt will be held November 5 at 12 PM at Leak Memory Chapel with memorial service to follow at 2 PM. Pallbearers will be Brett Pouncey, David Huneycutt, Mark Mills, Kendall Nutt, Kevin Nutt and Kedric Nutt. In lieu of flowers please make memorial gifts Gideon’s International.
