

William Glenn Parker passed away early morning on April 28, 2025. He was 82 years old. Glenn was born September 18, 1942, to Elmer Ray Parker and Imogene Moseley Parker in a wooden house built around a split log cabin.
Growing up on a dirt farm during WWII and afterward. He attended and graduated from Ozark Elementary School, Ozark Jr High School and Carroll High School. While still being in High School he joined the Alabama Army National Guard as a member of Hq Hq Co 1st BN 131 Armour.
Basic training came after graduation ended early 1962. He enrolled in Troy State College. This was interrupted shortly by mobilization of the 131st Armored BN because of the Berlin Chrisi's. After separation he resumed his Troy education. He taught for a short time in the manpower Training Program. He then was recruited by the Alabama Education Association (AEA) where he worked primarily with retired teachers. Along the way he continued his rural heritage by engaging in growing peanuts, corn, soybeans and rye. Upon retiring from AEA, he and his wife Rebecca Rawls Parker whom he married in 1981 and relocated to Wetumpka.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Imogene Parker, a sister-in-law Linda Still Parker, mother in-law, Florence Idella Rawls; brother and sister in-laws, George & Juanita Rawls, Henry & Vallie Rawls, and brother, Howard Rawls; and nephews, Ray Rawls and Brantley Woodham.
He is survived by wife of 44 years, Rebecca Ann Rawls of Wetumpka; brother, Elmer Stanley Parker of Ozark; Nieces and Nephews, Liesl (Greg) Cobb and Alan (Cristi) Parker of Ozark, Amy (Tony) Seales and Lee Ann (Michael) Taylor of Wetumpka, and Sharon Rawls of Attalla. Great Nieces and Nephews, Taylor (James) Whitmire of Opelika, Brady Strength, David and Stella Parker of Ozark; Eric Seales of Vestavia, Ryan McElroy of Decatur, GA, Raven Bradley and David McGuire of Attalla. Great-Great Nieces and Nephews, Ethan Seales, Travis Douglas, Derek and Julie Bradley, Randy McGuire.
A visitation for William will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a graveside service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to The Caring Center of First Baptist Church of Montgomery, 305 S. Perry St, Montgomery, AL 36104
