

William Lee Struthers was born July 12, 1931, in Montgomery, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Peggy Struthers, his parents Edward Nash Struthers Sr. and Mary Lee Struthers; brothers Edward Struthers Jr., James Struthers, and Howard Struthers.
He is survived by his three children, Karen Smith (Webb), Rosemary Sprague (Jeff), Michael Struthers (Emily); six grandchildren, Abigail Mitchell (Michael), Haley Thompson (Peter), Zachary Sprague (Jordan), Taylor Schmidt (Caroline), Holly Struthers and Will Struthers, and ten great-grandchildren.
He was a devoted member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church for 70 years, serving his Lord as deacon, usher and teacher. He lived his life daily as a Christian example to all. Bill loved his family deeply, his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was passionate about being part of Carpenters for Christ and a loyal member of Betty Hurley's Sunday school class for over 60 years. He was proud to serve his country in the Army during the Korean War.
His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Auburn and Atlanta Braves sports fan. He was faithful to Meals on Wheels and delivering devotional books to those in need. He will be deeply missed by his dear friends and devoted family.
A visitation for Bill will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3604 Pleasant Ridge Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am led by Dr. Rick Marshall. Services will conclude with the burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
