

Ann was born on December 3, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Joseph M. Pilcher and Sarah Nettles Pilcher. She lived a full life marked by her many grandchildren and her love of music.
She was preceded in death by her former spouse, Robert D. Thorington. Ann is survived by her children: Wyn Thorington of Prattville, Alabama; Elisabeth Thorington (Stephen Mongillo) of Rye, New York; and Robert D. Thorington, Jr. (Celia) of Wetumpka, Alabama. She was a proud grandmother to Margaret M. Clinton (Blair), Katharine M. Thornbury (JT), Olivia Ann Mongillo, William S. Mongillo, Winter T. Martin (Jake), and Robert D. Thorington III (Emily), and was blessed with six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Thomas Pilcher (MaryJo) and his three children.
Ann graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and the University of Alabama where she also earned an MA in education. While at the University she was elected Bama Day Queen and named a runner-up in the Miss Alabama pageant. She taught reading at the NYU Reading Institute and went on to teach elementary school in Montgomery. Ann was also a gifted and accomplished pianist; she shared her passion for music by teaching piano lessons for many years.
A private graveside ceremony will be held for immediate family.
