Zella Rae Mcpherson

McPherson, Zella Rae Williams, a resident of Montgomery, AL passed away peacefully on February 28, 2011, at the age of 90. She was born on July 10, 1920 in Brantley, AL. Mrs. McPherson was retired from the Birmingham Board of Education. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Leak-Memory Chapel with the Reverend John Gaines officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at 2:30 PM at Pleasant Home Cemetery in Crenshaw County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bryson McPherson and daughter, Joy Gail Barnett. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria McPherson and son, Robert “Bob” McPherson, Jr. (Janice); grandchildren, Denise Kindred (Warren), Debra Carlisle (Clint), Hal Barnett (Adina), Laura Revis (Michael) and Robert McPherson, III; great-grandchildren, Beau Ashleigh Bonner, Patrick McPherson, Sophia Barnett and Tayler Revis and sisters, Cuba Welch and Ruth Morrison; a host of nieces and nephews and dear friend, Stephanie Alexander. Her siblings, Stella Turner, Julia Brooks, Eva Mae Wood, Lillian Wood, Brazil Williams, J. D. Williams and Edsel Williams preceded her in death. Pallbearers will be her granddaughters and grandsons. A special thanks to the staff of Holly Cottage at Country Cottage Assisted Living, Amedysis Hospice and Dr. Kirby Parker. Arrangements under the direction of Leak Memory Chapel, Montgomery, AL.
