It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela (Antonietta) Marino on January 18, 2026 at the age of 94, surrounded by her family. She was the devoted mother of Mary Mastromonaco and Michael Mastromonaco and cherished daughter of the late Maria Domenica Ambrosio and the late Giuseppe Marino.
Angela was born in Morrone del Sannio, Campobasso, Italy. After her father passed away at the young age of 36, she helped her mother, her older sister Michelina, and her younger brother Gino to run the farm.
On February 2, 1953 she married Angelo (Raffaele) Mastromonaco in Morrone. They had 2 children - Mary born there and Michael born in Canada.
In search of a better life, the small family immigrated to Montreal, Canada in May 1958. Her son Michael was born in 1959. She learned English and worked very hard to support her family, working in factories, as a seamstress and doing housekeeping for a chocolat company and for the Montreal General Hospital for many years.
Her husband passed away in 1987 (58 years old) and she kept going with self-determination, outstanding courage, motivation and an unwavering devotion to her family.
Left to mourn are her children Mary (Richard) and Michael. Angela was predeceased by her older sister Michelina ( late Antonio) and her younger brother Luigi (Rosina). She will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
