

Bow On Tam, a beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, peacefully passed away on November 24, 2025 at the age of 90 in Montreal, Quebec. His life was a testament to honesty, hard work, and kindness, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on August 9, 1935, in Canton, China, he was the eldest son of the late Wah Ying Hum and Yu Ching Wong. He embarked on a journey to Montreal, Quebec in 1970, with help from his extended family who helped sponsor him, his young wife and children, and his beloved mother to Canada.
His deepest dedication was to his family. He was the loyal husband of Yung Kwan Tam for 60 years, their bond a source of love, devotion, and comfort. He was a patient and caring father to Wilson, Wendy, and Betty.
He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Haley, Ally, Isla, and Ian. He took great joy in seeing them grow and being an important part of their lives.
Bow On Tam is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Yung Kwan Tam; his children, Wilson Tam, Wendy Tam, Betty Tam and their spouses, Hilda Lau, Dzuy Nguyen, and Ravi Vijayendran; his grandchildren, Haley Tam, Ally Nguyen, Isla, and Ian Vijayendran.
He is also survived by his cherished older sister, Yuk Fong Yuen, and remembered with love alongside her late husband, Sing Kong Yuen. He is predeceased by his younger brother, Wing On Robert Hum, and is survived by Robert’s wife, Susan Hum. Bow On was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, a cousin to many, and a deeply respected member of his extended family.
The funeral service will take place on December 4, 2025 at the Centre Funéraire Côte-des-Neiges (4525 chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, Quebec, H3V 1E7), with the wake beginning at 11:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 12:45 PM. At 2:15 PM he will then be laid to rest at Cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges (4601 chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, Quebec, H3V 1E7). There will be a reception to follow.
