It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Rotiroti in September of 2021 in Montréal. She will join her beloved parents, Fioravante, and Maria Stella Rotiroti.

She will be missed by her beloved brother Nicola and wife Mary, nephew James and wife Amy, niece Sarah, and husband Michael Joyce, and of course her beautiful grand-nephew George Leon.

She graduated with high honors from Concordia University with a degree in Math and Computer Science.

Her career started with part-time work at Cumberland Drug while in high school. Through hard work and dedication, she rose the ladder from retail to the director of IT. She later joined Optimal Robotics (now Fujitsu) and became the Director Retail Operations at Fujitsu Canada for many years.

She was a loving and caring person and enjoyed baking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Her strength, resiliency, and determination helped her to achieve success even in difficult times.

The family will receive condolences at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White funeral home (5610 Sherbrooke St W, Montréal) on Friday, September 24 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., as well as on Saturday, September 25 from 10.30 a.m. to 11.15 a.m., followed by a service at the Saint-Raymond Parish (5765 Rue Saint-Jacques, Montréal) on Saturday, September 25 at 12.30 p.m. Cathy’s resting place will be at the Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery (4610 Cote des Neiges Rd, Montréal).

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society would be appreciated : https://cancer.ca/en/ways-to-give/monthly-donation/support-the-breast-cancer-cause

Offering sympathy to all of Cathy’s family and friends for her loss. I remember her especially from our time together in grade school! She always excelled in Math and was a great student and a sweet girl. She had such a wonderful smile! God bless and console all her loved ones as you mourn for her. She is remembered fondly by all her classmates from St. Augustine’s.❤️

Dear Rotiroti Family and Friends.

Cathy and I became friends when we were in junior high school during the brief time her family lived in Massachusetts. We started walking to school together and almost immediately became inseparable. Even though she and her family moved back to Montreal, we remained close friends. Phone calls, long letters and yearly summer vacations gave us the best opportunity to catch up and share our future plans.

When I met my husband-to-be, I didn't think of anyone else to stand next to me as my maid of honor. We had so much fun planning our wedding and even though we were doing the planning long distance, she was by my side on that special day!

When we got the message from her brother that she was in the hospital and not expected to make it, my whole world shattered. My husband and I have shared so many memories of our times together over the past few days, and we have laughed and cried. She was a special lady and left us too soon. God took an angel home. Rest in peace, dear friend. We love you.

First I would like to express my sincerest condolences to the family for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of mourning.

Cathy was small in stature, but her assertiveness and conviction in her actions and in what she believed demanded your immediate attention and respect. She was a great leader and surprise, she was fiercely, fiercely protective of her people. She was also about the sweetest, kindest, most approachable person I have ever had the pleasure and honor of knowing. She will be Dearly missed.

Dear Rotiroti Family,

Our thoughts and prayers from Cathy's Fujitsu family are with you.

I was fortunate to have a long conversation with Cathy as she was finishing her treatments several years ago. I was amazed at the courage she showed during that difficult time. And it helped me understand how she could also be such a kind, but strong manager.

We are all so fortunate that she was in our lives.

Sincerely, Larry

The respect and authority Cathy commanded vastly exceeded her stature. Fircely protective of her people, she was a force to be recon with at all times. She will be remembered by her co-workers as a shinning example of what it means to be a great manager.

My heart dropped when I heard the news.

Although we only worked together a short time, Cathy, I enjoyed our daily chats by the staircase. Your quick words of wisdom or brief history lesson usually often in the form of a reminiscent metaphor or limerick made my day and often came in handy as I grew professionally and personally.

You're in my thoughts and prayers. And I know you're taking these next big steps surrounded by the warm, peaceful glow of the light in the skies above us and guided by those who have also left us in years past.

My sincere sympathies to those who knew and loved her.
