À Montréal, à l’âge de 85 ans, est décédée Céline Chartier Pilon, fille de feu Ernest Chartier et de feue Blanche Lafortune. Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils Daniel né Pilon, ainsi que des neveux, nièces, parents et amis.
La carrière de Céline s’est essentiellement déroulée à l’Université de Montréal où elle a successivement occupé des postes de secrétaire et de responsable de dossiers, au Secrétariat général, au Vice-rectorat à la Planification, et au Rectorat. Elle s’est particulièrement associée à la cause de CENTRAIDE à titre de directrice de la campagne Centraide-UdeM, fonctions qu’elle a assurées pendant de nombreuses années. À sa retraite, Céline a accepté d’assumer les responsabilités de secrétaire du Comité des prix et distinctions de l’Université, et de ses sous-comités, poste qu’elle a assumé pendant plusieurs années.
À la demande expresse de la défunte, sa dépouille a été incinérée immédiatement après son décès. Elle repose au Cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges avec son fils François (décédé en 2017), ses parents et grands-parents.
