

Ernest James Shea, 93, of Pointe Claire, Quebec died peacefully at the Montreal General Hospital in Montreal, Quebec on May 23, 2025. Jim was born on January 18, 1932 in Ottawa, Ontario, the son of Bernadette (Desormeaux) and Earl Shea. He is predeceased by his wife of 59 years Nancy Shea (nee McCrossin) and is survived by his children James (Kristen) Shea of Lyme, Connecticut and Ann Shea (Robert Napholz) of Riverdale, New Jersey and his grandchildren Aidan and Lily Shea.
He met Nancy shortly after he moved from Ottawa to Saint John, New Brunswick and they were married on January 4, 1964. They spent their early years together in St. John’s, Newfoundland, moving to Pointe Claire in 1970, where they raised their children. He worked for RL Crain his entire career beginning in Ottawa followed by Montreal, Saint John, St. John’s and ultimately back to Montreal until his retirement.
Jim took great pleasure in his two grandchildren, Aidan and Lily, and enjoyed traveling to spend time with them as they were growing up.
He was an avid golfer having played in the Willingdon Cup and passed on the love of the game to his son and grandson. He was closely involved in his children’s activities while growing up, coaching baseball, cub scouts and making many early morning drives for ski school.
A service will be held at Saint John Fisher Church in Pointe Claire, Quebec on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 11:30 am, followed by a private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to support Parkinson’s research.
