Gerald Trineer

He passed away of natural causes, peacefully in his sleep, during the early hours of Easter morning. Gerald was predeceased by his loving wife, Nora Welden Smith (2001) and by his granddaughter, Kate Trineer-Roberts (1995). He was the proud father of Wanda Leah G. Trineer (Rodney Roberts) and the even prouder "Poppa" of Hannah Trineer-Roberts. He was predeceased by his brother James (Dora Kelly) and by his sister Gladys (the late Bud Urquhart). He will be remembered as a very special Uncle by his immediate nieces and nephews on the Trineer side of the family, the late Bill, Heather, the late Jackie, Karen, Donna, Wayne, Dianne, Faith, and Anne and on the Smith side of the family by Beth, Andrew, and Stephen; also by three additional generations of nieces and nephews.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank the amazing staff and other residents at the Manoir Westmount for making these past six years so pleasurable and to St. Margaret's Residence where he has been so well cared for over the past five months, with special thanks to Bianca. Gerald was a member of the Royal Alexandra Lodge #104 since January 4, 1963 and then the Meridian Royal Alexandra Lodge #125 up until his death.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Kate Trineer-Roberts Fund for Neonatology at the Jewish General Hospital Foundation (3755 Cote Ste Catherine Road, Suite A107, Montreal, QC H3T 1E2) would be most appreciated.

Due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service and burial of ashes in Arundel, QC will be announced at a later date.
