

It is with great sorrow that we announce our loss of Gerundio Amargo, who passed away on March 28, 2020. He is survived by his wife Delia Tolentino Amargo, father of Jean-Paul (Girlie ) and, grandfather to Alexis, Mikayla, & Cameron.
Gerundio, also known as Ronnie or Podoy, was born June 15th, 1936, Iloilo, Philippines. He graduated from Iloilo City Colleges in Bachelors in Commerce in 1961. Podoy was employed as a Section Head for company D'Allairds.
On July 14, 1974, he married his wife Delia Tolentino. He moved to Canada from the Philippines in 1974.
Podoy loved sports, especially basketball, boxing, and hockey. He was passionate about music where he enjoyed playing the piano, clarinet, and saxophone. He also enjoyed listening to music, playing records as well as making his own mix tapes. Another one of is passions was his love for dancing with his wife where they would ballroom dance particularly to the Tango, the Cha-Cha, Boogie, and Waltz.
Another one of his passions included traveling. Podoy loved traveling with his wife back and forth from the Philippines where they built a house in Alimodian, Iloilo. They also enjoyed traveling to visit places such as, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Alaska. He also enjoyed traveling to visit family in California, New Jersey, Maryland, Arizona, and Toronto. Podoy also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as they enjoyed each other's company by playing the piano, going for walks, and listening to each other's stories. Podoy always enjoyed spending time with family and friends whether it was going to restaurants, or just visiting and enjoying spending time with each other. Podoy was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
A special thank you to the staff at Royal Victoria Hospital and especially the Coronary Intensive Care Unit at the Montreal General Hospital for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards all the kindness, thoughts, prayers during these particularly difficult times.
